Retrieving a transaction allows you to reopen a closed order so you can correct items, pricing, or other details. This process is completed from the managers options on the till and is subject to financial period and system configuration rules.
Before you start
Here are some important notes about this feature:
Transactions can only be retrieved for the current financial period. If the Z Read has been actioned, the order cannot be retrieved. Use Refund Mode instead.
If your system has a Property Management System (PMS) connection, wait at least three minutes after closing the order before retrieving it. Retrieving too quickly may result in both the original and corrected postings being sent to the PMS.
The Retrieve Order button location varies by site configuration and is usually found on the Managers screen.
Not all sites have this button enabled. Support can assist if it needs to be added.
Retrieve a transaction
Return to the till where the original order was closed.
Click Function button.
Click Managers.
Click Retrieve Order.
Locate the order:
Scroll through the list to find the order, or
Use the Search bar and the on-screen keyboard to enter the order number.
If the Z Read is not completed daily, click the Calendar
icon to search by date.
To review the order, click Bill Preview
icon or Print Check
icon to review the order. Click Cancel to return to the order list at any time.Once you've located the order, click Select to reopen it.
Click Yes to confirm.
Make the required changes by voiding or adjusting items on the check as needed, and process as usual.
The old Order Number will no longer be valid in the Back Office, and a new number will be assigned to the re-opened order.
