Set up automatic product lists to group child products under a parent product, reducing till pages and speeding up service. This feature streamlines product selection by displaying variations, such as different wine glass sizes, in a single pop-up menu, improving till navigation and serving efficiency.

Automatic product list

Automatic product lists allow you to select child products, which make up smaller sections of a main product, streamlining till operations and improving serving speed.

Using automatic product lists for draught, wines, and spirits provides several advantages:

  • Increased product capacity: Only the parent product needs to be displayed on screen.

  • Fewer till pages: Reduces navigation time between pages.

  • Improved serving speed: Faster product selection process.

  • Better organisation: Streamlined product management.

Before setting this up

Before setting up automatic product lists, ensure that:

  • Your till is running version 4.5.0.0 or above.

  • The parent product has to be a Stock Unit within the Stock Control tab of the product.

  • The parent product has an SKU assigned.

  • You have access to Newbridge EPoS back office till programming settings.

Setting up child products

Once your main product has been created, you can then add child products to it.

To set up child products, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Newbridge Back office, entering your username and password.

  2. Select Till Programming, then select Products.

  3. Select the product you want to edit.

πŸ“Œ Note: It must have a Stock Keeping Unit (SKU).

  4. Click into the ID column and click Edit.

  5. Select the Child Products tab.

  6. Click Add Child.

  7. Name the child product with specific details, for example: Sauvignon Blanc 175ml or 250ml would be a child product of a Sauvignon Blanc bottle.

  8. Select the Automatic Product List tick box.

  9. Save all changes.

How it works

Till operation

To select the child product on the till, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the parent product on the till.

  2. A pop-up box appears showing all child products, with the parent at the top. Select the desired product from the list or click Cancel to close the screen without selecting.

  3. The screen closes automatically when a product is selected.

πŸ“Œ Note: If the child product is not showing, it is likely that the Automatic Product List tick box was not selected when setting up the child product.

Additional features

  • Modifiers continue to function on attached child products.

  • This system replaces the need for modifiers and operates much faster.
