Once you have created a product, you can then create modifiers to provide additional information or chargeable extras to the product. For example, you could create the product steak. You could then add modifiers for how this should be cooked, plus modifiers for steak sauces that would be chargable.
When you highlight a product you've already added to a bill, you can then sell your modifier product, and it will attach underneath it. Modifiers can also be priced, so there are many ways to utilise this feature.
Create a product modifier
Step 1: Create your main product and modifier products
You need to create a product for:
Main product - Make sure to select Product Type: Product.
Modifier - Make sure to select Product Type: Modifier, and add a price if required.
Step 2: Set up modifier groups
β οΈ Important: If you already have the required modifier group in your system, then you can move to step 3.
To set up modifier groups, follow the steps below:
Within the Newbridge back office, navigate to Till Programming and select Modifier Groups.
Click New to create a new modifier group.
Enter the modifier group Name.
Enter a Min Selection value to determine how many modifiers must be selected as a minimum.
π€ Tip: To allow the modifier screen to be bypassed, set the minimum to 0.
Enter a Max Selection value to determine how many modifiers must be selected as a maximum.
Step 3: Configure the modifier screen
To configure the modifier screen, follow the steps below:
Navigate to Till Programming and select Modifier Groups.
Locate your newly created modifier group and select Update Screen.
Once the modifier group buttons page loads, select a square.
Within the Button Editor screen set the button text, select the modifier, then click Add to Button.
Click Save & Close.
Step 4: Assign modifiers to your main product
To assign modifiers to your main product, follow the steps below:
Return to Products under Till Programming.
Find your product and click Edit.
Select the Modifiers tab.
Choose your modifier group from the dropdown menu.
Click Assign to Product. The modifier group will now be shown on the right-hand side of the screen.
Click Save to complete the setup.
Step 5: Refresh your system
Allow 5 minutes for the changes to process.
Refresh the data on all of your terminals.
Test by selecting the main product on the till - the modifier menu should now automatically appear when the main product is selected.
